It is raining. The kind of rain you don't dare run in. Rolls of thunder makes booming sounds, enough to deafen your ear, while flashes of lightening flits across the dark sky! Aw well...no run today, sidelined by the weather, but at least we walked earlier!
Yesterday my 3.8-mile run turned into a disappointment. In the middle of our run, my feet started to act up. I began to feel uncomfortable as if my feet were no longer my own. We walked a bit, I felt better, so we ran some more; then I felt a small pain as if my feet were protesting what I was doing. I tried running some more, but we decided that walking would be easier to do so as not to hurt myself. Sidelined by unknown problems.
I went home, took a warm shower. Put my feet up, and massaged my feet. Thank heavens hubby cooked dinner so I didn't stand too much, giving myself more chance to rest my weary legs. I think it might be the fact that I'm using more muscles in my legs. I am running for much longer than my body is used to, walking a lot less, therefore putting more stress on muscles I haven't used in a very long while! I have low arches that only feel better when I wear heels, and I've been in flats all week, that might also be the reason for my foot pain. Today I made sure to wear heels and my feet feel a lot better. I'm on a watch, wait and see for now. If there is a need for it, a doctor's visit will be in order. For now, I'll go home and do an easy work out and I will give my feet some more TLC!
