Imperfect

There are times dear reader, when you realize that you're not perfect.  You make mistakes and instead of moving on, you sit in the mistakes you have made.  What do I mean exactly?  Well, instead of chalking it down as something that shouldn't have happen but it did and moving on, going forward with your life; you sit and you wallow in that misstep.  You beat yourself up and you keep reliving it over and over and over again.  You be-cry your life, where you are, where you're not, why you can't get to where you're going and it seems as if you're never going to get "there"!

But there's something I want you to know.  Remember that it's OK to fail.  It is OK to not always be on top, to not be perfect.  Remember we live in an imperfect world where not everything plays out the way it should.  But more importantly, remember that there is a God above walking beside you.  He's there for your successes and he's there for your failures.  He wants you to remember that you're not alone.  Don't sit on your backside and keep whining about what you can't seem to do, or how life doesn't seem to be going your way; get up, brush yourself off and move on!  Go on and claim the success that will be yours.  Go on to the future that you will live with joy and abundance!

Yesterday I watched my oldest girl graduate from our local college.  Along with her, there were 7,999 others!  One thing we noticed, along with the younger people, the twenty-somethings that were graduating, there were quite a few older ones, even some with grey hair!  They were so proud to march up those steps to the stage and whoop their delight, their family members screeching with even more delight as their names are called, accepting the honor of their degree.  How wonderful is that?  Absolutely wonderful!  You see no matter how old you are, no matter how long it takes you (and me!), we can achieve our dreams!  We can go to the places we dream of, or even to the places where we could never have imagined!

Don't sit and be negative, don't cry over what is lost, or what you might have missed out on.  Don't keep reliving the mistakes you have made.  Stop the "shoulda's", "coulda's" and "if only's". No dream is impossible when God is involved!  When you feel afraid, lost or alone, just whisper a prayer, or speak aloud words of comfort.  Don't be surprised at the comfort doing that brings!

Thank you Joel Osteen for the inspiration! I love listening to him on Sunday mornings. His messages are always relevant to life in today's world!
