Letting Go

It can be one of the hardest things that you have to do, to let go of anything that you want to keep hanging on to for dear life...even if doing so hinders your future; keeps you locked into the past; doesn't help you to heal; or keeps you in that place that you've been in for far too long!

Sometimes, for your own good, you have to do just that, let go.  Letting go of that which hinders you, and all of the a-fore-mentioned statements too!  But some of us just don't like change. We all know that change comes with letting go. Not knowing what the future holds, not knowing what the outcome of your letting go will be, we wonder, "Will I be a success?"; "Will this be the best decision I've made for me?"; "Is this something that I will regret doing?"; or even, "Have I made the biggest mistake of my life?"  But you won't know, you can't answer any of these questions, until you do let go and move on.

It is a big scary world out there dear reader.  So much so that it keeps some of us tethered to the "apron-string" we have become so comfortable with, in other words to stay with what we know.  We might put a foot out, testing the 'waters' but we pull ourselves back if we meet with any kind of resistance.  We don't want to face any kind of adversary that will make us uncomfortable, and so we do not move, remaining the same.  But by doing this we are holding ourselves back from experiencing that which is our destiny.  We hold ourselves back from that which our Lord has planned for our lives.  Have you ever heard the saying "Man makes plan but God directs"?  Proverbs 16, man may make designs for his way, but the Lord is the guide of his steps.

We can make all the plans in the world we want to.  We might even have some success with some of our own plans, but this is because God is directing our lives, whether we like to admit that or not.  Sometimes it is good to roll with the waves that are happening in your life and let go so you can be led.  Do this and then you will see that your plan and God's direction are the same.  You just have to have some experiences that helps you to grow, so you can learn to handle all the successes that comes your way! Keep it positive and keep it moving!
