The Cost of Christmas

Have you ever really thought about what Christmas costs?  I'm not talking about to you personally, I think you and I both know how much that adds up to dear readers?!  We set our budgets, sometimes we go over it too, but we do know what we're spending!  Remember the song, "The Twelve Days of Christmas"?  The song about a "true love" sending his guy or gal, gifts for the 12 days of Christmas....or at least if you look at it another way, the 12th day could be on Christmas day, so that would not have begun on December 1, rather on December 14th!

I've followed this over the years, but haven't written about it again until now.  PNC Wealth Management, pncmc.com, often shares their updates on what Christmas actually costs.  Do you know what the cost this year is?  A whopping $27,3293!!!! Wowsa!  That's the highest I've seen it!  Even in this economy dear readers, prices are up and that's a lot of dough!

According to PNC, the cost of a Partridge in a Pear Tree, guess where? In New York City's Central Park would cost $204.99 up by 10.8% from last year's cost! That's an expensive tree!

Three French Hen in Paris, France would cost $165 for all three of them, that cost is also more than last Christmas' cost!  I'm loving their interactive game!

Four Calling Birds at a cost of $519.96, has not gone up in cost at all!!! That's good news!  I had to go to Russia on the Gift Price Index (GFI) and look for the notes left behind by the Calling Birds!lol!

The most expensive gifts to give would be the Seven Swans a Swimming, at a cost of $7,000!  The cost for the gold ring was only $750, not bad considering how expensive jewelery is.

The cost of gifting is up all right, just look at the charts over the years!
