You Can Eat All the FAT You Want

Scientists say you should eat all the fat you want, and yes, there is a "But".  You see, there are good fat, and bad fat.  And it also depends on which ones you do eat, and how much you do consume. New dietary guidelines that are usually published by the federal government about the type of foods we should be eating will be published soon.

The governmental guidelines published at certain times to guide us in how and what we eat, and why we do eat, for health, or dietary reasons.  Over the years we have learned that there are "Healthy or Good Fats" and "Bad Fats" when it comes to what we eat.  These are only guidelines, meaning they are suggestions or recommendations on what we should eat to optimize our health.

It is often said that we should not eat fat because of how harmful it can be for our health, that is why most food that contains Transfats (partially hydrogenated oils), found in foods such as pastries and other baked goods; and in almost all the food we eat; are a part of what is called "Bad Fats".  The recommendation is to eat a lot less of these food. However, there are "Good Fats" that are good for us because we get energy from some them such as various oils, vegetable, olive, peanut; nuts, and  is necessary for us to have and aids in how we keep ourselves healthy.

"Bad Fats" is not good for us if we consume too much of it, we will often gain weight and it can be a cause of concern in how it affects our health.   Quite often you will hear eating certain food is really good for you.  Then at another moment you will hear that it is not good for you to eat because it affects your health. You can imagine how confusing this is for all of us!  So though we can eat all the fat we want, the key is do it in moderation, do exercise however minimally to keep healthy because it is necessary for good health, and most important, see your health professional often.
