One of the most boldest things I've done recently |
On thoughtcatalog.com, Christopher Hudspeth talked about 20 Ways to get out of your comfort zone. It is scary as heck to put yourself "out there" and be vulnerable to anyone. I don't even want to be seen as vulnerable to anyone outside of my home, or at my office, or anywhere else for that matter. Do you?
Colored my hair a very bright RED |
However, sometimes we have to be. Why? Because we are human (a cliche'd expression) but we are. It makes us who we are, we make mistakes, we cry, we move on, hopefully having learned from our experience. It's never easy, but this is how we learn and grow.
What are some of Christopher's suggestion? Putting your personal stuff, namely your work out there to the world so you can have their feedback, good or bad....this is what I do everyday writing my blogs!lol! (fellow bloggers you agree?)
He also wants you to make a fool of yourself. Wait, maybe he hasn't seen my writing lately? All vulnerable, and revealing and whining....is that making a fool of myself? Probably not, I'm just too honest for my own good. But he wants us to more like, embarrass ourselves....!
He also wants you to set the bar high on something that seems so out of your reach....hmmmm, I'm doing that right now. In fact, this entire 2014 Reinvention of Me plan is like, you know....really not going my way right now.....but I'm learning and having fun, and living and....you get it, your turn to just do it already!
Christopher (as if I know him personally...I think he knows me more w/that article of his...) wants me to make new friends....I've been working on that. Online, offline...more online than offline...seriously, I do have friends offline...yes, I do have a life..no, I'm not protesting too much!
OK, so I won't give away anymore of his suggestions or else this writing will be ever so long. He really has some great suggestions. Take a walk over to this link and read more. If you do try any of his suggestions, do share! And hey, will you be my new friend? We can hang out on the blogs, talk fashion, motivate each other, read each others stuff...follow each other on social media...just don't stalk me! I'm just saying...
My musings from the fantastic article linked above, and here:
